Skopelos town
The second port in Skopelos town, also called Chora, is the headquarters of the whole island. The town is beautiful, having narrow streets and white-washed houses with red-tiled roofs. Much of the city center is filled with buildings that were amphitheatrical in their construction and dating back to the 18th century, built up on a slope overlooking the harbor.
The city is also home to numerous churches, including one dedicated to the Panagia Eleftheriotria dating from the seventeenth century. Another significant church is Agios Athanasios Church, which borders the town's central square.
